EMERSON, Nancy d. of Robert and Margaret, Aug 23, 1825, a. 3 y. 15 d.

The year of birth entered above is by backdating based on her age in the Millbury death record and as inscribed into the gravestone. If correct, her full date of birth was 8-Aug-1822. No birth record has been found to fully confirm.

ref. Massachusetts, Town Clerk, Vital and Town Records, 1626-2001. Millbury, Worcester, Massachusetts, United States. v 1 p 210 and published Vital Records of Millbury to 1850, p 137.

ref. Pg. 419 of the published Vital Records of Sutton to 1850. The entry in the Vital Records of Sutton is followed by a G.S. notation, which indicates the information was gathered from the inscription in her gravestone and not from a death record found in town files.

She is also found listed by name only in the death records section of the parish register for St. John's Episcopal Church in the Wilkinsonville district of Sutton. That, her death being record in Millbury and she being interred in Millbury Cemetery indicate that in 1825 the family was probably living in the area along the Blackstone River where Millbury and Sutton adjoin. However, no Robert Emerson family is found residing in Millbury or Sutton in the 1820 or 1830 census.
