John Q. Adams, 75, owner and operator of the John Q. Adams Store in Victoria for more than 50 years, died Monday at 10:40 p.m. in a local hospital following a brief illness.
Mr. Adams was born Aug. 16, 1897, in Fayetteville, Ark. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a veteran of World War I.
Funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from McCabe-Carruth Chapel with the Rev. James Adams conducting the services. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Clara M. Adams; four daughters, Mrs. D. J. Davis and Mrs. Norman Miller, both of Victoria, Mrs. Warner Thamm of Houston and Mrs. Betty Thompson of Mineral Wells; a brother, William of Vista, Calif.; a half-brother, Amos Huff of Victoria; 19 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
