Thomas Dudley Street was the third of nine children born to David Mimms Street and Clarissa J Randall Street, in Polk County, MO. Between 1850 and 1860, the farming family moved to Denton, TX. In 1861 T.D. married Rebecca Jane Selby. To this union, six children were born: William Henry, Violet Helena (named for Rebecca's mother), Joseph Martin, Lafayette "Fate," Isaiah "Ide," and Thomas "Tom" Didymus Street.
In 1898 TD and Rebecca moved to Oklahoma Territory with son Lafayette and his wife Cindy. They settled 2 miles from Wood, O.T. (now Port). Two years later they were back in Texas, but by 1910 they had returned to Oklahoma and were living in Washita County.
In 1917 T.D. was involved in an automobile accident and broke his leg. He was hospitalized in Clinton, OK. He underwent surgery to repair the leg but it was unsuccessful. He died in the Clinton hospital and his remains were sent to Port Cemetery for burial.
