Birth: Apr. 2, 1953
Delaware County
Indiana, USA
Death: Mar. 25, 2012
Mecklenburg County
North Carolina, USA

Born on April 2, 1953 in Muncie, Indiana, to Virgil and Octavia Warren, he was the middle son (of three). He was a father to two sons, Nathaniel, and Nicholas Warren, and step-father to Cheryl Smith (we are so close that I consider him my real dad). He was a fun-loving, sociable individual, who loved to laugh, cook, and spend time gardening. Tim was the type of person who made a lasting impression on everyone he met, and this proved to be true to my mother and me.

Tim always had his own little phrasings and sayings, which for the most part, stuck and became and 'inside' thing between him, mom, and me. For instance, he would call chicken noodle soup, "Chicky noo-noo," and always called me "Missy Boo," or just "Missy," as a term of endearment.

He held several jobs throughout his life, but for the last 15 years, he was working as a locksmith. His last job was as a locksmith for Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina, and he not only loved the job, but loved the people he worked with. It really bothered him when he could no longer work.

In April of 2011, Tim was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer as the result of a smoking habit. After nearly a year long battle, on March 25, 2012, at 2:20 p.m. Eastern Time, he passed away at Gaston Memorial Hospital. Tim had a strong faith in God and fought a good fight. He is predeceased by his mother, Octavia Warren, and is survived by his wife, Roxanne Warren, his father Virgil Warren, his step-daughter Cheryl Smith, and his two sons Nathaniel and Nicholas Warren, and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his two brothers, Terry and Troy, and four nephews.

2 Timothy 4: 7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith..."

I can still hear him saying, "It's ok, Missy." I can't imagine my life without him as my dad. I would share the loving memories, but everything is still so fresh - it just hurts right now. Maybe when I feel stronger... Just know that you are deeply loved and will be sorely missed.

His official Obituary is posted at

Today would have been your birthday. I can't believe it has been one week and one day since you passed away. What are we going to do without you? I can't imagine our lives without you. I wish you were here, happy and healthy, laughing and cutting up like ...(Read more)
