Born on September 24, 1930 he was the son of the late Signey Johnson-Hurbon and her husband George and the adoptive son of the late George Ackerbloom. George proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was employed as a machinist for Mastercraft Tool & Die in Southington from where he retired after many years of service. George enjoyed basketball and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Mr. Ackerbloom is survived by his children: Michael Ackerbloom, George Ackerbloom Jr., Rickey Ackerbloom, Mary Jean Pardo, Denise Russell, his adopted son David Loomis; four brothers: Richard Hurbon, David Hurbon, Franklin Hurbon, Joseph Hurbon; three sisters: Elizabeth, Cheryl, Janis; nine grandchildren: and several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Peter Hurbon.
