She was born Catherine Lorraine to Albert and Marcella Greenheck on Oct. 3, 1926, in the town of Clyde, Iowa County, Wis. She was a proud graduate of UW-Platteville in elementary education. Kitty taught in Kenosha, Beaver Dam, Oregon, Madison, West Middleton and was a longtime sub in the Middleton School District. She married Larry Duren in Lone Rock, Wis., on June 28, 1950. They celebrated 52 years of marriage in 2002.
She is survived by her seven children, Mike (Liz), Dan (Betsy), Mary, Amy (Wayne), Cathy (Craig), Meg (Dave), Liz (Johnny); and her sister, Mary Ann Lindh. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Abbey, Jenna, Carley, Chris, Eric, Megan, Mark, Matt, Tori, Claire, Katie, Rebecca, Mason and Grant. She leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her brothers, Joseph and Francis Greenheck.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff at the Waunakee Manor as well as the staff at Agrace for taking such wonderful care of her.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. Bernard's Catholic Church, 7450 University Ave., Middleton at noon on Friday, June 22, 2012, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. with a time for family remembrances at 11:30 a.m. until time of the service. A private family burial service will be held in Cazenovia at a later date.
