BILLY CLAVELOUX
William (Billy) Claveloux, 13, blind boy whose picture was on the front page of the Post last week in the Community Chest series. Died in an ambulance in Baltimore yesterday, where he was being rushed for a delicate brain operation.
The 13 old lad, who lost his sight two years ago following a football accident, was within a block of the Hospital when he died.
Despite his blindness, Billy had grades of A and B at St. Anthony's School where he was an eighth grade student. Sister Anselm the principal called him an "outstanding student,a wonderful boy."
When he became blind, Billy was taught the Braille system at the Family Services Association's department of the blind, and he never lost spirit.
Billy leaves his mother and father Mr.and Mrs Bernard A. Claveloux, two brothers Bernard A. Jr.,15, John 9, and a sister Mary 18. They live at 1721 Lawrence Street North West.
