Death: Nov. 5, 1868

Elisha Daugherty was born in Campbell Co., Tennessee about 1808. It is currently unsure who his parents were.

Elisha married Luvina Marcum (1810-1890) about 1829. Luvina, who was also born in Tennessee, was the daughter of Arthur Marcum (1774-1832) and Ann Bransgrove (1778-aft 1850).

Elisha and Luvina had at least four known children. They were Sarah C. "Sary" Daugherty (abt 1830-aft 1880), Anna Daugherty (1836- ?), Hiram Clay Daugherty (1838-1908), and Tabitha Elizabeth "Tabby" Daugherty (1852-aft 1900).

Elisha and Luvina were apparently separated in the 1850 census but were back together in the 1860 census. They divorced about 1862.

After his divorce from Luvina, Elisha then married Nancy Jane "Jincy" Stephens Phillips (abt 1824-aft 1880) on Aug. 4, 1864. Elisha and Jane had one child, Elisha Daniel Daugherty (1866-1924). Since Jincy was 35 when she married Elisha it is likely that she was previously married, possibly to an unknown Stephens.

Elisha died on Nov. 5, 1868 in Whitley Co., KY and was buried in the Duncan Cemetery in Whitley Co. (now McCreary Co.), KY. He was about 60 years of age when he died. Elisha is thought to have one of the 89 unidentifiable field stone markers that are in that cemetery.

Elisha's first wife Luvina, who did not remarry, died in Whitley Co., KY on Mar. 25, 1890 at the age of 79. She may also have been buried in the Duncan Cemetery and if so, would have an unidentifiable field stone marker.

Following Elisha's death his second wife Jane married widower William Carroll (abt 1813-aft 1880) about 1869 He was the father of three teenage daughters. It is not currently known when or where Jane died nor where she is buried. She last appears in the 1880 US Census.
