Mabel Louise Alford, 93, died February 22, 2007, at Heartland Hospice of Dunwoody, Georgia. Visitation is Saturday, March 3, 2007, 11 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl. Funeral services are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at funeral home chapel with burial in the Floral Hills Memory Gardens.
Miss Mabel was born in Neshoba County on August 25, 1913 where she lived until 1939. At that time she went to work as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Mississippi State Hospital, Whitfield. She retired after more than 38 years of service. In 1997 she and her late husband, Bernard, moved to Dunwoody, Ga. to be with her son and his family.
Mabel, also known as GG, for Great-Grandmother, was very actively involved in her great-grandson's sports activities. For several years she greatly enjoyed attending their baseball games.
Survivors include: her son and daughter-in-law Ray and Georgia Stuart of Dunwoody, Ga.; grandsons, David Stuart, Brad Stuart and his wife Jill; great-grandsons, Justin and Brandon Stuart, all of Cummings, Ga.; sister, Laura Goodin of Louisville and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Miss Mabel has gone home to be with her late loving husband, Bernard, and her precious great-grandson, John Reagan Stuart.
