"Ginna"
Ginna Dubarry, 89, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2012, surrounded by her much loved family.
She was born on July 13, 1923 to Daniel and Kathleen Agerup at their home on Gedney Street in Everett, WA.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her brother, Wesley; and her sisters, Florence Woods, Lillian Precious and Helen Cohen. She was also preceded in death by Richard Adams and Lloyd Long.
She leaves behind her husband, Farlan "Kas"; her son, Skip Adams (Laurel); daughter, Sandy Jo Adams; son, Mark Dubarry; grandchildren, Rob (Liane) Erdle, Rick Erdle, Shelby Wallace (David), Don Adams (Angel) Larry Arndt, Shawn and James Dubarry; great-grand-children, Robby and Ashley Erdle, Caitlyn and Shaye Nilson, Mackenzie, Nathan and Macy Adams; step-great-grandchildren, Katie, Aly, Noah, Mackenzie and Quincy; and various nieces, nephews and extended family.
She attended Everett schools, graduating from Everett High school in 1941. She worked various jobs as a young girl, most notably as a riveter for Boeing in Everett. She studied nursing at Everett Junior college and worked at Providence Hospital and Colby Manor. She worked at Hostess Bakery in Seattle for 17 years. Kas and Ginna moved to Spokane in 1977 and then moved to Anchorage in 1980 where she worked for BP at construction camp #2 in Prudhoe Bay for 6 years. She returned home to Lake Stevens in 1989 after retirement.
Ginna was a long time member of the Salmon Bay Eagles and was a 50 year member of the Kellogg Marsh Grange. She enjoyed trips to Reno with her family and also loved Hawaii. The most important thing to Ginna was her family and what she enjoyed most was spending time with all her kids and grandkids.
Celebration of life will be Friday, January 4, 2013 at 1 p.m. at Shaffer-Shipman funeral home in Marysville. Reception to follow. She will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Everett alongside her parents.
Ginna had a special gift of making everyone feel loved. She never met a stranger and never forgot a name or special occasion. Her laugh was infectious and she always had a kind word. She will be sorely missed by all her family and friends
