Funeral service for Ocie Samuel Adams, 82, of Alto and formerly of Houston will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2015, in the O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Alto with Bro. Michael Smith officiating. Burial will be held in the Old Palestine Cemetery. Mr. Adams passed away Saturday, Sept. 26, 2015, in Nacogdoches. He was born May 15, 1933, in Alto, Texas, to Clyde Adams and Willie Liles Adams. Mr. Adams had lived most of his life in Houston after being raised in Alto. Mr. Adams was Pentecostal and owned and operated a printing shop in Houston for many years. He was also a member of the Alto Masonic Lodge, Terrell Lodge #83. Mr. Adams loved fishing and was very proud of his Native American Indian heritage. He was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters as well as a son-in-law, Brian Gemmell. Survivors include son, Eric Samuel Adams of Shepherd, Texas; daughters and son-in-law, Judy Adams Babcock (Gary) of New Orleans, La., and Sabrena Adams Lewis of Oshawa, Ontario; grandchildren, Trevor Colt Sylestine, Brett Tyler Sylestine, Katy Lynn Adams and Eric Susanna Adams; great-grandchildren, Rose Marie Sylestine and Gabriel Joseph Sylestine; sister-in-law, Nell Adams of Alto, Texas; and special niece, Glenda Randall of Nacogdoches, Texas. Pallbearers will be Trevor Sylestine, Jimmy Adams, Jerry Adams and Tommy Adams. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the funeral home in Alto. O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home.
