Born to Marion "Joseph" Thompson and Nancy Elizabeth (Williams) Thompson.

Married 1) Hattie Mae Holman. Hattie is the mother of their children.
Married 2) Beatrice Sylvester Carroll.

He and his wife Hattie divorced when the children were young, and Curt and his second wife Bea raised his children.

I remember my grandparents well and spent many weekends and even a week at a time in the summers with them, sleeping on a featherbed at the end of their bed, eating from the garden that my PaPaw always had every summer. He grew tomatoes, okra, zuchinni, and corn. He always planted a row of marigolds along side of his tomatoes to keep the bugs off the tomatoes--I can still remember how they smelled. He also grew zinnias in the flowerbeds in front of his house.
