In 1929 Bill's parents separated. He and his Mom obtained a house next store to her sister's family in the same town. His mother re-married in 1931 to Hosea Andrews.
Bill graduated from Richmond High School in 1941. He was called up to serve in the US Cost Guard during WWII. He never returned back to Indiana after the war.
He met his 1st wife-Bettie "June" Kington while he was in military training. They married in December of 1943 in Cumberland, Maryland. They had two children: Frances Christine in 1944 and William Arthur, Jr. in 1946. They divorced in 1948.
Bill married again in 1948 after his divorce from Bettie June. to Catherine May Trundle. They divorced in 1953.
His last marriage was in 1957 to Marietta Alice Myers. They had one child together: Stephen Arthur (aka-Sam) in 1957.
Bill served as a Maryland State Trooper from 1946-1951. In 1953 until 1961 he serviced as a Patrolman for the Frederick City Police Department in Maryland. He earned several awards during his service.
Bill was 70 years of age at the time of his death.
