James D. Henderson, former St. Mary township boy, died at a hospital in Two Harbors at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 10, following a stroke. He had been ill for several weeks previous to the fatal attack. James David Henderson, son of Wm. A. and Grace Henderson, who were among the early settlers of Waseca county, was born on July 15, 1871, on a farm in St. Mary township. He was a resident of St. Mary for about 25 years and left here to join the navy, where he served four years during peace time and was also in the army following his honorable discharge from the navy. After his military service he went to Clinton, Iowa, where he met Miss Lillian Stoltenberg and they were married there in September about 25 years ago. They went to Two Harbors, where they made their home, while Mr. Henderson was engaged as a florist.
Mr. Henderson is survived by his wife, daughter, Mrs. Walter Robinson, and a brother, John H. Henderson, all of Two Harbors; a sister, Miss Agnes and brother, Joe Henderson of Clinton, Iowa. His parents and a brother preceded him in death. The remains will be brought here Saturday for funeral services to be held at 2:30 p.m. from the Pfaff home for funerals. Burial will be made in the family lot in Woodville cemetery. Members of the American Legion will be in charge of the funeral.
