Birth: Aug. 26, 1885
Cittą Metropolitana di Genova
Liguria, Italy
Death: Mar. 1, 1926
Lafayette County
Arkansas, USA

Born: Allesandro Alphonse DeLucchi in Genoa, Italy in the year of our Lord, 1885. He came to America from Italy and arrived at Ellis Island in New York, NY aboard the ship "Verona" on June 12, 1911.

The passenger list for the Verona states his name as Alessandro DeLucchi. His name was "Americanized" during the immigration process and he became Alfred A. DeLukie. Also, according to the list, he was of north Italian nationality, then approximately 22 years of age (approximate birth year given as 1889), 5'5" tall, black hair and eyes, and he had the equivalent of $25 U.S. in his possession. He gave as his his nearest relative his father, Giovanni DeLucchi (who resided in Genoa, Italy), his occupation as laborer, and his final destination as Mohawk, Arkansas (a railroad town in Columbia County). It is documented on the list that he had plans to join his uncle Francesco DeLucchi. In the 1910 federal census, his uncle Frank DeLukie resided with his wife Emma in Moss, Columbia County, Arkansas. In the 1920 federal census, Alfred is listed as Alford A. A. DeLukie and resided in the household of his uncle, Frank M. DeLukie in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana, only a few miles south of the Arkansas/Louisiana state line. This census gives Alfred's estimated year of immigration as 1910 and his occupation as sawer at sawmill.

Alfred's WW1 Draft Card, dated September 1918, lists his date of birth as August 26, 1885 and his nearest relative as "John DeLukie" (Giovanni DeLucchi) address Genoa, Italy.

He and Stella Mae Miller, daughter of W. Chester Miller and Lula Sarah Adkins Miller, were married in Claiborne Parish, Louisiana in 1921 and made their home near Haynesville, LA. Alfred worked as a laborer at various sawmills in Arkansas and Louisiana.

Alfred passed away at the age of 38 years on March 1, 1926 in Lafayette County, Arkansas. He left behind his wife Stella Mae and two young children, son Adrian Fulton aged 3 years and daughter Catherine Elise aged 7 months.
