Frank C. Di Leonardo, Jr.
May 6, 1930 - July 18, 2010
Frank C. Di Leonardo, Jr. age 80, of Valley City, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Medina Hospital.

He was born May 6, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Frank and Mary DiLeonardo. Frank has resided in Valley City since 1977. In the early years of his life, he worked for the former Frank C. Di Leonardo, Jr. age 80, of Valley City, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Medina Hospital.

He was Fisher Foods in Cleveland and later worked on the ramp service for American Airlines from 1965-1991.

Frank was proud to have served as Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War.

He was the founder and active member of the Medina County Marine Corp League 1984-present.

He was very active in the Toys for Tots campaign for 20 years.

Frank was founder of the Ohio Korean War Veterans Organization. He was instrumental in getting the Korean Monument built in Washington, DC. and he was present for the dedication ceremony in 1995.

Frank was a member of the Valley City VFW Post #5563.

He was an active member of St. Martins of Tours, where he dedicated his time for 25 years to the food bank.

Frank was also a Boy Scout leader for many years. An organization he volunteered his time to for many years was the Lakota Indian Survival Fund.

Survived by his wife- Marilyn of 61 years. Children- Frank (Skip) Diane, of Valley City, OH; Michael (Sally) of Calif.; Anthony (Annette) of Valley City, OH; Jim of OK and Paula (Jeremy) of Calif. 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Sisters- Nena (Paul) Kaschalk, of Avon Lake, OH and Mary Schneider, of Amherst, OH.

Preceded in death by his parents, a daughter- Susan; a brother- Joe and a brother-in-law: Wayne Schneider.

Funeral Mass- Thursday, 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin of Tours 1800 Station Road Valley City, OH Rev. Thomas Dunphy, officiating.

Burial- St. Martin Cemetery, Valley City, OH

Calling hours- Wed. 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. at the Bauer Funeral Home 2089 Columbia Road Valley City, OH. In lieu of flowers- memorial contributions may be made to the family.
