Company D, 125th Pennsylvania Infantry
Original Cemetery records attribute "Pvt. A.C. Bowen" to the 124th PA Inf, but an examination of the muster roll in Bates reveals the 124th PA had no Private by that name in any of its companies. Also, the 124th PA had no casualities with any similar surname. Conversely, the 125th had a casualty with the surname "Bowen." The assumption here is the Regiment number and initials were mistranscribed.
Pvt. Francis Bowen mustered with the 125th PA Infantry on August 13, 1862.
