Juan Concepción was a Private in the United States Army. He served in Company B of the Porto Rico Provincial Regiment Infantry.

He was originally buried in Site 31 of Old Post Cemetery in San Juan, Puerto Rico. On March 31, 1907 he was removed from that cemetery and buried in Section A, Grave 30 of Fort Brooke Post Cemetery in Santurce, Puerto Rico. On January 15, 1960 he was once again transferred to his final resting place, the Puerto Rico National Cemetery in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
