Eva Viola Haymore was born 22 March, 1887 in Payson, Utah, Utah, the daughter of Franklin Demarcus Haymore and Lucinda Adaline Taylor. Franklin's parents were Baptists, and did not believe in dancing, but Franklin loved music and learned to play an accordian and violin to play for dances. He began a courtship with Lucinda Adaline Taylor and while visiting her one day, the Mormon missionaries were there. Elder Henry Boyd presented Franklin with a pamphlet and he became convinced of the truthfulness of their message. His parents offered him the ownership of their farm if he would give up his intent to be baptized. Lucinda and he decided to marry and hope that this would soothe his parent's objections to his baptism. When Franklin and Lucinda chose to leave North Carolina and travel with the Saints to Utah, they again offered him all they had ownership of if he would stay. Franklin and Lucinda left Mt. Airy in July 1869. Arriving in Utah, they settled in Payson, and it was here that Eva Viola Haymore was born. She was their tenth child. It was here in Payson that Franklin and Lucinda were baptized on 13 February 1870, breaking the ice in order to do so. In 1888, Franklin entered into marriage with Elizabeth Ann Lant. The practice of polygamy was part of the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at this time, but often those men living this principle were sought by U.S. Marshals and put in jail. For this reason, Franklin took his family to Mexico in 1896, settling first in Colonia Oaxaca, Sonora, Mexico. It was here that his daughter Eva Viola Haymore attended school and Primary. Her mother Lucinda died when she was just 10 years old, leaving her father Franklin with five children and Eva Viola to raise. The Naegle family was also living in Colonia Oaxaca and in time, Eva Viola met and fell in love with Marion Beck Naegle, a son of John Conrad Naegle and Pauline Beck Naegle. They enjoyed good times together at the many celebrations, church activities and dances held there. They were married 29 December 1903. When Eva went into labor with her first child, the women of Colonia Oaxaca did not know how to handle her difficult case, so one of them suggested that the best rider with the fastest horse be sent to a neighboring town to engage the services of a Mexican doctor. The doctor rushed to Colonia Oaxaca and saved the baby, Eva May Naegle, born 15 December 1904. But sadly, Eva Viola passed away that same day. Eva Viola Haymore Naegle was buried in Colonia Oaxaca, leaving her newborn little baby girl to be raised by her husband's mother, Pauline Beck Naegle
