Jasper Artis of Rockville, Va., passed away Saturday, July 3, 2004, at the age of 85. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Beatrice L. Artis. Mr. Artis was a retired master butcher and a World War II Army veteran
His remains rest at Henry W. Dabney Funeral Home, 518 N. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va., where family will receive friends Thursday, July 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at St. James Baptist Church, Beaverdam, Va. Interment church cemetery. McCarthy, director.
