Carl William Ashley, 90, of Mannington, WV, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2014. He was born August 14, 1923 at Wyatt, WV, a son of the late William Ashley and Ethel Willis Ashley.
Carl is survived by his wife, Helen Lorain Batson Ashley, with whom having been married to for 65 years; 2 sons, Lonnie Ashley and wife Joyce of Katy and David Ashley and wife Judy of Carolina; 2 daughters, Connie Robinson of Monongah and Janet Plachta and husband Mark of Farmington; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Carl was the last of nine children.
In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by one grandchild, and 8 brothers and sisters.
Carl worked at the Mannington Pottery and concluded working in the construction field. He was a member of the Zion Assembly Church of God in Idamay. He enjoyed watching TV and especially watching western shows. He was loved by all and surrounded by family when he passed away.
Family and Friends may call at Masters Funeral Home, 209 Main St., Mannington, WV on Friday, January 31, 2014 from 2 – 4:00 p.m. and 6 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Tom Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Greene Cemetery in Dent's Run.
