Ray Burkot, 61, of Bardstown, died Tuesday May 22, 2012 at Flaget Memorial Hospital. He was born November 5, 1950 in Fairborn, Ohio, an employee of Toyotomi America in Springfield, a Eucharistic Minister, member of St. Joseph Basilica Choir, and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Clara Burkot; and brother-in-law, Harrell Lawrence.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Burkot of Bardstown; daughter, Emily Burkot of Bardstown; two sons, PO2 Andrew (Heather) Burkot of USN San Antonio, Texas, and Simon Burkot of Bardstown; two brothers, Mark (Janet) Burkot of St. Louis, Missouri and Greg (Paula) Burkot of Bardstown; two sisters, Christine Lawrence of St. Petersburg, Florida and Terry Burkot of Tampa, Florida; father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Pat Runge of Inverness, Florida; two sisters-in-law, Patti (Mark) Malinosky, and Pam (Roni) Runge; brother-in-law, Jeff (Sally) Runge; and several nieces and nephews.
His memorial service will be 10:00 am Saturday May 26, 2012 at Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral. Rev. Joseph Batcheldor will officiate. Visitation will be 9 - 11 am at church. A bereavement meal will follow memorial service at St. Joseph Elementary School cafeteria.
Memorial contributions may go to Nelson County High School, Baseball Team.
Cremated, Ashes given to family or friend.
