Harriet Mitchell is the daughter of Martin Mitchell and Mary (Lipscomb?) Mitchell. She migrated with her family from Jackson County, AL to Pulaski County, MO around 1837. The family lived in Waynesville, MO.
Harriet married John B. Ellis sometime after 1850. They had a son, George Byron, born in Waynesville on 20 March 1855.
(George) Byron Ellis was a pharmacist in Apache, Okla. where he died in 1937.
Not sure of her date of death, but believe Harriet died before the 1860 census.
The above information was published by Mrs. Eulah Quiring in the book, "800 Missouri Families: Vol. 3" by Don Vincent. Mrs. Quiring is the great-great granddaughter of Martin Mitchell.
I am currently researching/seeking information on Harriet's burial place. Her husband, John Ellis, is buried in the Morgan Cemetery near Waynesville. John Ellis remarried after Harriet, and had a daughter Mary A. Ellis who married Hariett's nephew David Robertson Mitchell.
