Ernest Leo Singer, 72, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 in Little Rock, Ark. He served his country for 8 years as a member of the Air Force during the Vietnam War and for 30 years as an engineering analyst for the Naval Ordnance Plant in Louisville. He served his Roman Catholic Church as an ordained Deacon. He was in the first Deacon-ate class of 1976 and served at various parishes throughout the Archdiocese. His last parish ministries were 2 parishes combined: St. Mary Magdalen in Payneville and St. Therese in Rhodelia in Meade County near Brandenburg. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Blanche and Cricket Singer and a brother, Louis Paul Singer. His survivors include his wife of 52 years, Margie Fritz Singer, his brothers, Charles Earl Singer and William Michael (Mary) Singer and a sister, Alice (Tony) Fortwengler and numerous nephews and nieces. A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at St. John Catholic Church with Rev. Ben Brown officiating. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of the VA Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. for their professional and compassionate care.
