Roger Anderson, 59, of Webster City died Saturday, Nov. 14 at the Hamilton County Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Church of Christ with Ray Artrip officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery.
Roger Lee Anderson, son of Clarke and Verta Elliott Anderson, was born March 19, 1933 at Floyd, Iowa. He was educated at Floyd and graduated from Floyd High School. He graduated from Upper Iowa University in Fayette with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He moved to Webster City in 1959 where he began teaching science.
On June 3, 1961, he married his wife at Mason City. The couple resided in Webster City where he continued to teach. He retired June 1990 due to failing health after teaching in the Webster City schools for 31 years.
He loved to fish and took annual trips to the Mississippi River as well as weekly trips to the surrounding rivers. He also had a large garden to tend every summer.
Survivors include his wife and two daughters, one son and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a member of the Church of Christ of Webster City.
