Margaret E. Archer, 84, died Aug. 2 at Cherry Village Nursing Home in Great Bend. Born Feb. 9, 1928, in St. Marys, she was the daughter of Thomas and Theresa (Pheifer) Seitz. She married William E. Archer in Great Bend. He died on April 19, 1998. A resident of Barton County most of her life, she was a homemaker and caregiver.
Mrs. Archer was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Altar Society, Eagle's Auxiliary, and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3111 Auxiliary.
Survivors include one son, Edson Dean Archer and his wife Linda of Valley Center; one daughter, Theresa Marie Depperschmidt and her husband James of Sylvia; one brother, Norbert Seitz of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren, Jennifer Gunder, Thomas Depperschmidt, Emma Albert, Christina Bennett, Grace Reyes, and Holly Suarez; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Jo Ann Bradshaw; and two brothers, Elmer Seitz and Thomas Seitz, Jr.
Altar Society Rosary will be held at 4 p.m., followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m., on Tuesday at Bryant Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home with Father Reginald A. Urban officiating. Burial will be at the Golden Belt Memorial Park in Great Bend. Friends may visit from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society in care of the funeral home.
