Jesse's father is Thomas Sherwood Parker who served in the Confederate Army. He enlisted in Bee County, Texas under Captain AC Jones. Thomas is buried in the Parker Cemetery along with his parents in Bruce, Mississippi.
Jesse's mother is Emily Lavinia Moore Wood Parker. She married Thomas in Yalobusha County, Mississippi on the 21st day of May 1850 after the death of her first husband Grandison Wood. She was brutually murdered along with Jesse's Sister, Emily Parker Simmons, and nephew in Bexar County during April 1881. Although their murders made headlines nationwide, each of their grave locations remain unknown. It was believed they were buried on the ranch where they were killed and a highway project caused the original graves to be moved. I have found no such proof.
Jesse is buried in a very small cemetery in Big Bend located on Boquillas overlook. I have photographs of the cemetery and headstones.
