Virgil Ellis Adams
Virgil Ellis "Bud" Adams, 89, of Holly Springs, died June 17, 2011, at V.A. Medical Center in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of Walton Chapel CME Church in Waterford, a church steward, a Sunday school teacher, worship leader, treasurer, World War II Army veteran, member of American Legion Post 250, a retired farmer, factory worker and barber.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on June 25 at Anderson Chapel CME Church in Holly Springs. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden. Rev. Isaac DeBerry will officiate. J.F. Brittenum and Son Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He leaves his wife, Maggie Porter Adams; two daughters, Norvel Adams Walker of Memphis, Tenn., Alfreda Adams Weber of Atlanta, Ga.; three sisters, Gladys Buffington, Dannie Mae Smith, both of Chicago, Ill., Mozell Kelley of Waterford; a brother, John O. Adams of Chicago; and three granddaughters.
