Russell was the son of the late Matthew and Jeorgina (Prime) Crowell, he was born in East Kemptville.
He was a retired woodsman, a former employee of the Department of Highways, and a Veteran of the second World War.
Surviving him is his wife Lorraine (Harding) Crowell; and a daughter Georgina; and six sons Lawrence, Robert, Daniel, Ronald, Peter and Russell. Four brothers, Frank, Thorpe, Paul, Milton; and two sisters. He will be missed by his many friends and family.
The body was held at Sweeney's Funeral Home at Yarmouth, a service was held at 2 pm Sunday in the Kemptville United Baptist Church with the Rev. Lloyd Gillico officiating . Burial will be in the East Kemptville Cemetery.
