Ethel married Alver Rule on 2/20/1907 in Warren county, IL. They had six children. They divorced in about 1928. Ethel married Warren Botsford of Moline, IL in 1932. She was a practical nurse and after Warren's death she lived in Delavan, IL for a time. Three of Ethel's children preceeded her in death - Dale at 12 from appendicitis, Cletus in his 30's, and Juanita, who died in an auto accident along with her husband and two of her children. In her later years, Ethel moved to Chicago to live with her son, Loris, and helped to raise his three children until her death. She was known as "Nana" by her 11 grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Nana spent her adult life caring for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and patients.
