Mr. Cherry retired in 1977 from the Boston Police Dept. Precinct 14 in Brighton after 26 years of service. He was a member of the Boston Police Patrolmen Association and the Boston Police Relief Association. He served in the United States Army, Company D, 17th Armored Engineer Battalion under General George S. Patton,Jr. during World War II.
