Mrs Almedia Rosalie Bragg Riner
Birth: Oct. 31, 1917
Mercer County
West Virginia, USA
Death: Jul. 12, 1998
South Charleston
Kanawha County
West Virginia, USA

Older daughter of Hunter McGuire BRAGG and Rosalie Almedia MOODY BRAGG, sister of Margaret "Elizabeth" BRAGG WILLIAMS and George Linwood BRAGG, widow of D. Hugh RINER.

Obituary published in the Charleston Gazette, the Charleston Daily Mail, and The Pocahontas Times:

Almedia B. Riner, 80, of Charleston, died July 12, 1998, at the Valley Health Care Center in South Charleston following a major stroke. Born in Princeton, WV, she grew up on Elk Knob in Summers County, WV where her family were very active in the Elk Knob Church. After 1962, she entered the office workforce and she retired as a Supervisor of Policy Service for West Virginia Insurance Service Office. After the death of her husband, D. Hugh Riner in 1962, she became a very active member of the North Charleston Baptist Church, where she served in the choir, on the Elderly Visitation Committee and, for 20+ years, as church treasurer.

Preceeding her in death were her parents: Hunter McGuire and Rosalie Almedia Moody Bragg; an unnamed sister who died the day she was born; and a sister, Margaret "Elizabeth" Bragg Williams. Survivors include Carol "Sue" Williams Dale, of Pocahontas County, WV who is a niece, but more like a daughter, and provided care for Mrs. Riner. Also surviving, a brother, George Linwood Bragg, of Monroe, Virginia. Many loving friends are also missing her.

As Almedia ("Auntie") wished, services were held at the North Charleston Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Bowden officiating. Burial was in her family's plot (Hunter McGuire Bragg) located in Greenbrier Burial Park at Hinton with graveside services led by Rev. Bowden. Pallbearers were from the North Charleston Baptist Church. The family suggests donations to the North Charleston Baptist Church, 1009 Woodward Drive, Charleston, WV 25312

Funeral arrangements including obituary submitted to newspapers followed Mrs. Riner's wishes and were carried out by Carol "Sue" Williams Dale, niece, surrogate daughter, and caregiver.
