Ruth D. Boyer, age 82, of Warrensburg, formerly Centerview, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2005, at the Liberty Hospital in Liberty, Missouri. She was born on June 22, 1923, in Carmel, Indiana, the daughter of Claude Campbell and Martha Jane Knight Campbell. On August 20, 1943, she married Herbert E. Boyer in Indianapolis, Indiana. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1991. On October 12, 1993, she married James R. Boyer. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1997. Mrs. Boyer graduated from the Carmel High School in Carmel, Indiana and worked as a secretary for the Centerview School District and later for the Crest Ridge School District. Mrs. Boyer moved to this area in 1948. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg.
Survivors include a son of Centerview; a daughter of Omaha, Nebraska; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Her parents; a daughter Jackie Strate on October 28, 2004; two sisters, Florence Huffman and Blanche Sipes; one grandson Kevin Boyer in March 1973, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2005, at the First United Methodist Church of Warrensburg. The Reverend Patrick Moore will be officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kyle Piepmeier, Jason Boyer, Jessica Boyer, Wendell Davis, Morris Hamlin and Gary Shanks. The family will receive friends on Thursday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Children's Mercy Hospital or the First United Methodist Church and may be left in care of the Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home of Warrensburg.
