Mr. Brooks, 57, Retired Fire Captain, died Sunday, May 2, 2004 at his home.
David was born September 13, 1946 in Charlotte, North Carolina, son of Estelle Short Brooks and the late James "Jim" Franklin Brooks. He served with the Charlotte Fire Department and retired as Captain of Station 11 after 28 years of service.
A service to celebrate the life of David F. Brooks will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2004 from the graveside of Elmwood Cemetery, Sixth Street. Friends may come by McEwen Funeral Service, Charlotte Chapel Tuesday between 2:00 PM and 5:00 p.m. to sign the register and pay their respects. The family will greet friends following the service at the graveside.
David is survived by his loving mother, Mrs. Estelle Short Brooks of Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in remembrance of David F. Brooks to the Fire Fighters Burned Children's Fund.
