Son of Abner M. & Maria Drury, born Westminster, Ma. mechanic. Enlisted Oct. 28, 1861 Co A First Mass Batt afterward 32nd Regt. serving as 2nd sergt. until dishcharge Jan. 4, 1864. He re-enlisted in the same capacity, was com. 2nd Lieut. July 20th and prom. to rank of 1st liet. April 1, 1865. In all battles of the Army of the Potomac from July 2, 1862 to the close of the war, receiving no injury great enough to disqualify him for duty; belonged to the brigade of the 5th Corps to which the surrender of the Rebel army of No. Virginia under General Lee was made at Appomattox, April 9, 1865; discharged June 29, 1865 at close of conflict.
