Oscar Winfred Johnson, Sr., age 93, passed away August 21, 2007 in his home in Austin where he had lived for three years. He was born in Austin to Andrew and Mathilda Johnson on May 27, 1914. He lived previously in Bastrop for 32 years. He is survived by daughter, Jacqueline Johnson-Garza; son, Jesse James Johnson; daughter Barbara Johnson-Weyland; daughter, Maria Leticia Johnson; son, Felix Ramirez; daughter, Margaret Galaviz; daughterRosalinda Villarreal; daughter, Marie Quiroz; daughter, Sandra Moreno; daughter, Petra Rodriguez, daughter, Cookie Romero; daughter, Blase Zamora; son, Lito Santa Anna; and numerous grand children and great-grandchildren.
As a devoted rancher he took great care and loved to work with his cattle. He was a wonderful father and human being, who will never be forgotten.
A visitation will be held at Marrs-Jones-Newby Funeral Home in Bastrop on Tuesday August 28, 2007 from 6 pm to 8pm.
Funeral services will be held at the Decker United Methodist Church in Austin on Wednesday August 29, 2007 at 10:30am.
