Mrs. Reba Barker Benson age 70, of Lansing, NC died Saturday, February 16, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Benson was born on April 28, 1942 in Ashe County, to James and Pearl Jones Barker. Mrs. Benson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Virgil "Junior" Benson, 3 brothers: Howard, Lake& Fred Barker, 3 sisters: Eula Brooks, Pauline Barker & Eleanor Testerman. Reba loved gardening, gospel music, playing the guitar and crafts. She was a member of Greens Chapel Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ed Hall. Burial will follow in Howell Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Tuesday prior to the service.
Mrs. Benson is survived by: Son, Patrick Wayne Benson of Hudson, Daughter, Thelma May Kastl and husband Scott of West Jefferson, sister, Myrtle Dean South of Jefferson, also surviving are 5 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
