Mattie Louise Banks, 91, died July 29, 2014, at Wheatlands Healthcare Center, Kingman.
She was born Sept. 3, 1922, in Reno County, Kansas the daughter of George H. and Mattie Hays Lantis. A longtime resident of the Kingman community, she was a retired Nurses Aide at Kingman Community Hospital.
She was a member of the Kingman Christian Church and O.E.S. #172, both of Kingman.
On Sept. 2, 1942, she married Charles "Hap" Banks at Joplin, Missouri; he died in 1993. Survivors include a son Charles, Jr. and his wife Kristen Patty; 3 daughters Joy Ankerholz, Betty Wright and Penny Weddle and her husband Paul; 15 grandchildren;16 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by an infant son Boyd Ray; brothers Virgil and Charles; and sisters Eunice Wilson and Laura Esther Young.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 2, 2014, at the Kingman Christian Church. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday at the Livingston Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery.
