Johann Leonard (John) Abraham was born in Seelau (now Zelewo) to parents Jacob Abraham and Antonina von Bobrucka (Bobrytzke). He resided with his wife Pauline (née Kozlowska) in Paradies (Paradyż) and then Lubotzin (Lubocino) where he worked as a servant and laborer.
In 1891 he emigrated with his wife and their six children. A seventh child was born soon after the family arrived in Chicago.
Unfortunately John and three of his children died of typhoid fever about seven months after arriving.
John Abraham was the husband of Pauline (née Kozłowska); father of Joseph, Cecilia, August, Frank, John, Rose Mattes, and Felix; brother of Augusta Kreft, Anna, Joseph, Mathilde Muttke, August, and Jacob.
