Elsie was born on the Ogden/Burdick farm in Kinderhook, MI. She married William W. Hoyt in 1904 on the James Hoyt farm in Kinderhook, MI.
Elsie and William had five children; Margaret, James Ogden Marion, (Ruth) Louise and Harold Max.
Elsie married again after the death of her first husband (in 1925) to John (Bill) Jordon in 1928. The couple separated in 1933 and divorced in 1936. Elsie resumed the name of her first husband.
She had no children by the second marriage.
Except for a few years in Chicago in the late 1930s, Elsie lived in Michigan and Washington for her entire life.
After her daughter (Ruth) Louise gave birth to her eight children, Elsie was active in the care of her grandchildren.
A memorial was placed for her in the Knauss cemetery, by her first husband.
