Dorothy Cecelia Aguilar 88, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Thursday, February 21, 2013 at her home. She was born February 28, 1924 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Refugio and Jaquin Bravo. She attended Central high school. She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed reading, playing solitaire, gardening, but most especially she enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved to pray the rosary and was a devout catholic and member of St. James Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. Dorothy was preceded in death by husband, Fred Aguilar, her parents, a son, Michael Aguilar, four brothers, John, Jose, Leopoldo and David Bravo and a sister, Delores Martinez. Survivors include six her children Cynthia Claywell and husband Barry, Janice Gross, Toni Lewis, Mark Aguilar, Mary Cox and husband Doug, all of St. Joseph, MO and Matthew Aguilar of Shawnee, KS, twelve, grandchildren, several, great grandchildren, one, great great grandson and a sister, Maria Martinez of St. Joseph, MO. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at 11:30 AM at the Saint James Catholic Church, Father Evan Harkins Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 6:00 pm, Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home, where the will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Friends may call after 10 AM Sunday at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery.
