AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS FATHER (JOHN HARRIS) IN KENTUCKY, DAVID LEE HARRIS MOVED TO LINCOLN CO. TN, TO WORK AS A TANNER WITH HIS UNCLE JOEL M. HARRIS AT HOWELL,TN.
IN 1860 DAVID BOUGHT EIGHT-HUNDRED ACRES NEAR BRIGHTON. HE WAS A FARMER,AND A LOGGER. HE OWNED A TWO-HUNDRED ACRE TRACT AT HIGH TOP ,NEAR BEAR WALLOW, AND A FOUR-HUNDRED AND EIGHTY ACRE TRACT ON THE MOUNTAIN NEAR NEW MARKET,AL.
HE WAS A REVENUE OFFICER FOR THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN LINCOLN COUNTY TN.

MESSRS.D.L. HARRIS AND J.L. BAXTER MADE A TRIP TO NASHVILLE LAST WEEK IN THE INTEREST OF THE FARMERS ALLIANCE.

THE OWNER SAYS $500 IS NO MONEY FOR THE YOUNGSTER. MR. THOMAS TAYLOR, THE OWNER OF THE SIRE OF THE COLT, SAYS HE IS NOT AFRAID FOR IT TO BE SHOWN ANYWHERE OR AGAINST ANY NUMBER OF COLTS.

ESQ,. D.L. HARRIS REPORTED THAT HE THOUGHT HE WAS TAKING THE BIG-HEAD A FEW DAYS AGO WHEN HE STARTED TO COME TO FLINTVILLE IN A DOUBLE TURN-OUT, BUT HE WAS OUT TO CHURCH LAST SUNDAY AND SAID HE THINKS THE ATTACK IS GOING TO BE VERY LIGHT, NOT BAD ENOUGH TO DISFIGURE HIM.

NOVEMBER 13,1913
LAST MONDAY SECRETARY OF STATE R.R. SNEED ISSUED A CHARTER TO THE CITIZENS' BANK OF FLINTVILLE, WITH A CAPITAL STOCK OF $10,000. THE INCORPORATORS ARE DAVID L. HARRIS , JOHN M. HARRIS, L.R. NOE, E.O.HUDSON AND JOHN YOUNG. THIS WILL BE THE NINTH BANK DOING BUSINESS IN LINCOLN COUNTY.
