MERIDEN - Roy L. Anderson, 89, husband of the late Shirley Anderson, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Hartford Hospital. He was born May 9, 1924, in Pennsylvania the son of the late Roy and Minnie Anderson. Roy proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II then went on to be an engineer for SNET for 35 years before retiring. He was a friend of Bill W. for 45 years, enjoyed playing cards and fishing.A special thanks to the Thursday night card players, he looked forward to it every week. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at Gethsemane Cemetery, Bee St., Meriden. The Beecher & Bennett-Flatow Funeral Home, 48 Cook Ave., Meriden has been entrusted with the arrangements.
