John Arganbright was the oldest son of Phillip Arganbright and Delitha Nicholas. In the census records, he is found in Harrison township, Vinton County, Ohio in 1850; and in Penn township, Stark County, Illinois in 1860. He married Letitia Ray there on December 23, 1861 (by Minot Silliman, J P).

Their known children were:

Charles E, born December 1863
Ella, born about 1866
Joseph Henry, born April 1867

The family is found in Walnut township, Bates County, Missouri in 1870. They had moved from Illinois about 1866, - their daughter Ella was born in Illinois while Archie was born in Missouri. In 1880, they are in Richland township, Wapello County, Iowa.

Letitia was a widow and head of household on the 1900 census - living in Howard Township, Bates County. John Arganbright died before 1900. Letitia died in 1913 and her death certificate lists her burial place as "Independence Church" Cemetery. That John is buried there is an assumption.
