Mrs. Elmer Josephine McAbee Steadings, 79, died at her home, 30 Varner Street, early Tuesday, after a brief illness.
Mrs. Steadings was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church, the widow of John L. Steadings.
Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Louise James, Mrs. Martha Cox, Mrs. Minnie Bell Fortenberry, Mrs. Clara Reynolds and Mrs. Elmer Richards, all of Spartanburg; two sons, Ed and Broadus M. Steadings of Spartanburg; 34 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 4 p.m. at the Bethlehem Baptist Church by the Reverand J. T. Lake, Leon Chandler and C. V. Landreth and Kenneth Ridings. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at the home and will remain until the service.
Pallbearers are: Clifton Richards, Bernard Fortenberry, Tommy, Edward, John and Norman Dean Steadings.
J. F. Floyd Mortuary is in charge.
