Mrs. Blanche Almond
ALBEMARLE -- Blanche Juanita Lowder Almond, 86, of 27799 Hatley Farm Road, Albemarle, died Thursday, Oct. 11, 2001, at Britthaven of Piedmont.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Friendship United Methodist Church, of which she was a member. The Rev. Roy Sides will officiate. Burial will be at Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery in Albemarle.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle. At other times they will be at the home, 27799 Hatley Farm Road, Albemarle.
Born Feb. 25, 1915, in Stanly County, she was the daughter of the late Alma Eudy Lowder and Lonzo "L.P." Lowder.
She worked at Wiscassett Mill in Albemarle, and later as a weaver at Cannon Mills in Kannapolis. She was active in the United Methodist Women and the Fellowship Sunday School Class as long as her health permitted. She faithfully visited the sick and shut-ins while she was able, and loved her church.
Survivors include her husband, Milas L. Almond of the home, son and daughter-in-law, Alton and Frances Almond of Allen, Texas, son and daughter-in-law Donald and Cindy Almond of Temecula, Calif., daughter and son-in-law Linda A. and Wayne McSwain of Kure Beach, daughter and son-in-law Judy A. and Dwight Troutman of Albemarle, brother and sister-in-law, Lloyd and Jeannette Lowder of Albemarle, and sister Marie L. Hatley of Albemarle. She had 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Glenn Lowder and a sister, Faye Loudermilk.
