BLACK, ANNE SALVIA Anne Salvia Black was born in New York City, on February 2, 1922. She was the ninth child of Thomas and Lucia Salvia who immigrated from Italy. Anne died from complications from arthritis. She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin M. Black. She met Marvin in Brooklyn where he was stationed in the Navy during W.W.II. It was love at first sight. While in the Navy, they resided in Miami, Florida, Levittown, New York, Astoria, Oregon and San Diego, Calif. She was a graduate of Textile High School in Brooklyn, New York. Anne worked for Avon Products and was a seamstress for Prevost Smith Parachute Company in Gillespie Field before retiring. She has been a member of Our Lady of Grace Church since February 1956. Anne was also a member of the Italian Catholic Federation. She is survived by her children Eileen, Patricia, and Charles Black and his wife Donna, two grandchildren Michelle Orkish, and Charles Black Jr., Michelle's husband John, and one very special great-granddaughter Aspen Orkish. Anne is also survived by her sister Ellin DiGiovanni, sister-in-law Grace Salvia, and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne was a warm loving wife and mother. She loved to laugh, and she loved life. She loved to sing and would break into song at any given moment. She was an avid Padres fan and enjoyed going to baseball games. Anne had a deep, abiding love for God and for her faith. She had a wonderful blessed life.
