Genevieve "Jean" Boggess passed away Sunday, Jan. 11, 2009, in the presence of her family, after a long illness.
She was born May 5, 1926, one of eight children to George and Minnie (Friedt) Dukart in Dickinson, N.D.
After moving to Billings, Jean met her husband, Lyle, at the Greyhound Bus Cafe. She was a waitress there and later waitressed at the Esquire Cafe. They were married April 19, 1947, and celebrated 54 years while raising five children. She enjoyed cooking for her family and baking her mother's German recipes. She especially liked cooking large holiday dinners. She was involved in the church prayer chain. She loved the family dogs, playing cards, reading books and watching the food channel.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; three brothers, Phillip, Jack and Bill; and three sisters, Ann, Rosemary and Irene. She is survived by her children, Gary (Deb) of Missoula, Doug, Cindy, Kim and Jason, all of Billings; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Bernetta; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom, we will dearly miss you!
Cremation has taken place. Services will be at 12 noon, Saturday, Jan. 17, at the Little Flower Church.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
