He married Sarah Ann Richardson, around 1877, Randalstown, Drummaul, Antrim, North Ireland. To this union were born: William Charles 1877-1965, George Glover 1879-1879, Robert 1880-1976, James Glover 1883-1925, Elizabeth Jane 1885-1956, Baby 1889-1889, Alice Bailie 1890-1988.

Robert Bailie Sr., who would have been 100 years old in February, died early Monday afternoon at the home of a daughter Mrs. Earl Hungerford, 4341 Britta Parkway, with whom he lived.

Acting Coroner Norman Anderson said death was due to natural causes, and no inquest will be held.

Mr. Bailie was one of the pioneer farmers in Grant county. He was born in Ireland. He moved to Madison 20 years ago after he retired.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Harris and Wopking funeral home, Lancaster. The Rev. Francis Krank will officiate, with burial in Boice Praire cemetery.

Mr. Bailie was born in Ireland and came to the United States, in 1881 to engage in farming, with an uncle in the Boice Praire area between Lancaster and Platteville.

Later, he moved to Canada to continue farming and came Madison to live 20 years ago.

Other survivors include an other daughter, Mrs. Leo Heiliger, Madison and two sons William C Bailey, Lancaster and Rober Jr., Alberta Canada. The body was taken to Harris Wopking funeral home in Lancaster.
