Maude E. Hannas, a longtime Pomeroy and Clarkston resident, passed away from causes related to age Thursday, Feb. 10, 2005, at Memory Manor in Pomeroy. She was 96.

She was born April 9, 1908, in Deer Park, Wash., to Eli and Barbara Gray. She graduated from Pomeroy High School.

Maude married Orle A. Hannas Aug. 12, 1933, in Lewiston. They farmed for many years in the Mayview area of Garfield County. They moved to Clarkston in 1965. In 1996, she was an Honored Pioneer in Pomeroy.

She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge in Pomeroy and the Pautler Senior Center in Clarkston.

Survivors include two sons, Orle Hannas Jr. and wife Carol of St. John and LeRoy and Harriet Hannas of Pomeroy; two daughters, Helen Lehfeldt of Clarkston and Sharon Harkins of Denver; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Viola Hannas and Stella Kimble; two brothers, Edmund Gray and George Wilson; one grandson, Mike Kruse; and a great-grandson, Jim Sebree.

The funeral is at 10 a.m. Thursday at Richardson-Brown Funeral Home in Pomeroy with the Rev. Frank Musgrave of the Pomeroy Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at the Mayview Cemetery.
